Here's a quick update on this month's happenings at HBQ!
Made some progress on my first quilt design, using Moda's new line Persimmon. These fabrics are so beautiful, and the colors are exactly what I had in mind for this quilt!
Did a little sprucing up by my sewing desk with a Katie Daisy print and a quick DIY dream catcher, inspired by Maureen Cracknell's blog.
Finished up this fun little project to add to my Etsy inventory. I added a precious yellow binding...pics of the full finish soon :)
I have a growing list of projects, designs, and commissions that will keep me quite busy this holiday season. I'm looking forward to bringing my designs from paper to fabric, repairing some vintage quilts for friends, and adding some really fun art quilts to my inventory. I've been working on my raw edge appliqué technique and I've really come to enjoy it!
In an attempt to get back into the swing of things, as well as finally bring my blog up to date, I did a little mini photo shoot yesterday! It always helps to improve my photography skills, and taking pictures of my upcoming projects really helped inspire and motivate me, not only to finish the quilt but to enjoy the process. Every quilt has a story and sometimes I forget to tell them :)
These colorful fabrics are for a Christmas quilt that I'm planning. I found a picture on Pinterest of a mini quilt with a white background and multicolored bookmarks. I sketched out my own version of it and plan to make a 60" x 60" throw. Not sure if I'll keep it or add it to Etsy...we'll jump off that bridge when we get there.
These cool blue and grey fabrics have been sitting on my shelf for quite some time now. I bought them to use for my hexie quilt, but they just didn't seem to fit the pattern. After a lot of searching, I finally found a picture of a quilt in a book that I bought and decided to figure out the pattern. I think it will look great with these fabrics!
That about wraps it up for HBQ this fine Monday morning...and now I'm off to my day job ;) Thanks for stopping by!
Cheers!
