Just a little experiment...

Tonight I thought I'd finally make an attempt at free motion quilting. I prepped a small "quilt sandwich" using a solid brown fat quarter and some scrap batting.

I loaded up some pretty pink thread and got to work. It was pretty fun! I'm definitely going to need lots of practice with speed/stitch control. But I think I'll get there some day.

My attempt was cut short because I broke a needle...still not sure how that happened. Hopefully I will have some better samples to show you all soon!!!

In other news, I have finished half of the straight-line quilting on this precious baby quilt. You'll get the full view once it's done :)

My list of WIPs/UFOs is ever-growing, but I do feel like I've made some progress over the past couple of weeks. I've completed 6 kids' aprons, and have ten more cut out and ready to be sewn.

I can't wait to see how all of these projects turn out! I'll keep you posted!
