Scrappy Sunday

Today I enjoyed the warm North Carolina breeze, and the smell of fresh cut grass, through the window of my sewing room. Spring is finally peeking out up here in the mountains, and it's so beautiful! In an effort to encourage more warm weather and gorgeous blooms, I decided to begin working on a bright and very fun quilt!

This is what I have so far. Each log cabin blog is made from small scraps, and I'm using the Quilt-As-You-Go method, which I found here. I'm planning on making several blocks in each color (possibly excluding red...I like pink better).

I was originally planning on 30 blocks, for a 60" x 72" quilt. But now I'm thinking that I might make a few smaller quilts, possibly baby quilts with two or three colors in each. Who knows! For now I'm just having fun with them. They're so easy to make!!!

I hope you all have a marvelous Sunday afternoon, and a great week!

Love always,
LB

  1. Love the bright springy colors..it's beginning to feel a little more like summer here as we've had two or 3 days in a row in the 90's already! UGH! But it's better than freezin' my a&# off!! LOL

  3. Those blocks would make wonderful baby quilts. I'm sure baby eyes would follow the stripes as they hold so many motif and and colors. This is indeed a great idea that you had!

    1. I hadn't thought about that, but it's so true! And the more animals, shapes, etc that I include the better! It's almost like a sensory blanket :)
